Pros and cons of reporting anonymously

+ The University uses anonymous reports to identify and monitor trends and look at awareness and intervention plans.

+ If you opt in to anonymous messaging, you will be able to discuss any queries you may have, and an adviser can offer support and guidance. Please remember to take a record of the messaging login code and log in regularly to check for messages from the Casework team. A guide to using anonymous messaging is here.

-The University is not able to take action or start any kind of investigation based on anonymous reports.

-The University cannot trace your report back to you and will not be able to speak to you about the incident or offer tailored support.

If you submit a report with your contact details, your report will be treated in confidence and tailored support can be offered to you. Contact will only be made with the person you are reporting once you have made a decision to proceed with an investigation, if appropriate for your circumstances, except in some specific circumstances which you can read about here.
