Physical and verbal assault are never okay.

If you have been affected by physical or verbal assault:

Think
  •  Are you in immediate danger? If you are in immediate danger or seriously injured, you can contact the emergency services on 999 (or 112 from a mobile phone).
  • If you are on campus and you feel safe to do so - you can call our security services on 01962 827666 (King Alfred Quarter) or  01962 827667 (West Downs Quarter).
  • Find a safe space.  If an incident has just happened try and find somewhere you feel safe.
Report
  • Report and Support. Students and staff can report an incident using the University’s Report and Support platform. YYou can choose to do this anonymously or you can report with your contact details. If you choose to provide your contact details, an adviser will be able to talk through the options and support available to you, in confidence. For more information about what happens when a report is submitted, please see the FAQs
Take care of yourself

It’s important that you take care of yourself. If you’ve heard something distressing or if something is troubling you, you might want to talk to someone.
  • Students can talk to our student life advisers  at student.advice@winchester.ac.uk and  the Student Union here.
  • Staff can contact our Wellbeing Officer, Dignity at Work Contacts or Care First - information is found on the Intranet HR pages.
  • External sources of support are listed here
